More About Spam Checking

Our system uses a utility to calculate the likelihood that your marketing emails may get captured by a customer's spam checker.  When you click the Check Spam Score button, we will check the subject line and content of your marketing email message and evaluate it against hundreds of rules and let you know the results.

Spam Score Button Colors and What They Mean

If the spam score button looks like this...

It means the spam score for the selected email is...

And you should do this ...

Click the Check Spam Score button to have the system check your email for you.

Turn the email on to send the email to your customers.

Medium

Review your email, because it contains values that make the email appear as spam.  This means there is a slight chance that your customer will not receive this email in their Inbox as it is currently written.  Review the rules listed in the Spam Score Results screen and made the necessary changes.  When you are done, click the Check Spam Score button to have the system recheck your email.

High

Review your email, because it contains values that make the email appear as spam.  This means that the email will most likely not get delivered to your customers' Inbox.  The email cannot be sent until the risks have been lowered.  Review the rules listed in the Spam Score Results screen and modify the email where necessary.  When you are done, click the Check Spam Score button to have the system recheck your email.

 

Common Tips to Lower Spam Score

  • Make sure the email doesn’t consist of images only. Spam filters can't read images, so they block content that cannot be read.

  • Avoid using "test" in the email Subject line.

  • Avoid using "Dear _____," in the email Subject line or in the introduction of the body content.

  • Avoid saying "Money back guarantee".

  • Don't use many exclamation points !!!

  • Don't use all CAPITAL LETTERS
