The Ingenico Moby/8500 is a compact, user-friendly, bluetooth payment device that accepts magstripe (swipe), EMV (dip), and NFC payments (tap).
Charging the Moby/8500
A USB charge cable is include when the Moby/8500 ships. Plug the micro-USB end of the charging cable into the 8500 and plug the USB end into a charging accessory.
Pairing the Moby/8500 to your restaurant point of sale
DO NOT PAIR IN THE TABLET’S BLUETOOTH
Plug in the 8500 and power it on.
If the reader is in pairing mode upon power up, then tap the red button to stop it
Log into the POS application
Tap the hamburger icon on the top left of the POS screen to open the slide-out-menu (box with 3 lines)
Tap “Settings”
Tap “View PIN PAD Details”
Tap the device when it appears on the list.
A pairing code will appear on the tablet. You will be prompted to enter this code on the 8500.

Once the code is entered the reader will be paired.

What types of payments are accepted?
The Moby/8500 accepts all card based payments including EMV, NFC, and MSR.
How do customers know how to insert their card?
The card reader displays an animation until the card is dipped, swiped, or tapped.
How do customers know how to remove their card from the reader?
The card reader beeps once and displays Remove Card on the screen.
How do I know the battery status of my Moby/8500?
The remaining battery life is displayed on the reader’s navigation bar at the top of the screen.
What do the LED lights on the top of the card reader indicate?
The Moby/8500 has 4 LEDs on the top of the reader that indicate a transactions progress.
Blue – For contactless transactions, indicates that the reader is waiting for card. The reader will also beep, indicating you should swipe or tap the card.
Yellow – Indicates the Reader is reading the card. Turns off quickly.
Green – Indicates the card read was successful. Turns off quickly.
