There are approximately three to four major releases a year for the point-of-sale applications and we target bi-monthly major Back Office releases. Software upgrades are included with your subscription and you will receive e-mail notifications about upgrade activities.
When accessing the Back Office, NCR recommends you use the most current version of Safari or Google Chrome web browsers. We do not test on Internet Explorer.
One-Release-Back Support Policy
NCR maintains a one-release-back support policy for the point-of-sale applications. When an update is released, you must be on the current version or the prior version in order to continue to use the point-of-sale. For example, if the latest version is v5.8 you must at least be operating on v5.7.
Similarly, NCR certifies our apps on the current operating system plus one major release back for Apple device (iOS) and Android tablet operating systems.
Supported iOS Devices
As of August 1, 2021, the point-of-sale applications can run on Apple devices running iOS 13 and higher. Here's the official list of devices that will work with your point-of-sales and KDS.
